SELFIE IDEAS DURING my MORNING WALK

During some recent warm and sunny mornings, I took a walk to clear my head and prepare for the day. As always, I was in awe of the beauty of nature bathing in the morning sunlight. Warm colors and shimmering air. Rays were peeking through the leaves, tall grass, and power lines. I saw some stunning pictures to capture everywhere… Yay

These days, smartphones (if you know how to use them) can be very handy when you don’t have a pro camera with you. So I decided to give it a go.

It wasn’t hard to find some beautiful spots for selfies and while taking them I thought how nice it would be to show you how I did it.

In the video below, I show how I found a spot and how I position myself. I was looking for warm tones, backlight (bright almost a halo-looking effect), no harsh shadows (even light on my face helps me hide my age lines) and the way I am holding the phone (the lower edge of the phone is at the eye level) gives the appearance of bigger eyes and focus is on them). I must say I was positively surprised by the results – in all fairness, I look fresh and handsome without any editing, filters and such.

Willing to try some selfies? For some of you, the winter months may be too cold to venture outside, of course. As a solution, you may opt for a window facing East that gets some sunlight. Use some house plants as props or just allow the sun light to dance through your hair and touch the fabric of your clothes exposing the edges in its beautiful warmth.

And let me know how it went!

…I bet your story is amazing and I would love to hear it. Having your amazing portraits taken to tell your story and celebrate the here and the now is one of the steps to allow yourself to accept and honor who you truly are – unique, gorgeous and magical. Gimme a call, send me an email and let’s start telling your story together. So thrilling!
